I was staring in disbelief at the image. The thumbnail had looked odd, but the full image was just surreal.
Well, unreal actually. Check out what has made top spot in the last 24 hours over at Airliners.net.
Dear, oh dear, oh dear! Apparently the screeners see no reason to remove this shot, claiming it meets the (very) high standards of Airliners.net.
Apart from the first-glance-obvious issues, check out the reflection in the nose! Left hand down a bit?
Holy cow is he still going down ? Do you think it’s a fake ? If it isn’t I hope it was with a very long lens
No, he’s not going down because his wheels are firmly on the ground in the original. Yes, I think it’s a fake. And a lot of people agree with me including one person who professionally fakes photographs and a professional photographer.
Then how do you explain this?

It’s a fairly convincing video, although I cannot believe there is so little wind rush after the aircraft goes over. But despite all the apparent video evidence, I would like you to explain the reflection of a single white line in the bottom of the aircraft’s nose (in the photo), along with what looks incredibly like a bat-man waving the aircraft into its parking spot. In the video, it appears the cameraman is standing at the very end of the runway with only grass behind him. It cannot be one of the runway end stripes visible in the video as they are closely spaced and only one stripe is reflected in the photo. I think the guy is better at faking video than photos, but I’d certainly like to see a version of the video without the tight cuts.
