In the depths of winter a few sunny days have snuck in and when they’re this rare I like to head on out to Wellington Airport to see what’s happening.
Before I got to the airport, the frigate HMNZS Te Kaha was spotted berthed at Queens Wharf, sporting SH-2G Seasprite NZ3602 on the rear deck.
Te Kaha’s rear deck also afforded a different perspective on a couple of Helipro machines, but I prefer this angle on Robinson R-22 R-44 ZK-HES.
Finally making it to the airport we spied a pair of Citation Mustangs. N968CM did us the honour of departing while we were still there.
And there was also the usual fare from the biggest…
…to the smallest.
Plus there are another 24 shots in my photostream including more of the Mustangs, helicopters, airliners and GA traffic.

Hi mate,
Fantastic pictures [as always!]. Just one thing – ZK-HES is an R44, not an R22.
Anyway, well done!
Rodney
Thanks! And yes, of course that’s an R-44. Don’t know what I was thinking.
